British car with British plates in suburban Georgia... but it’s LHD, and the GA sports team decals seem like something that you wouldn’t put on until you’re already settled in here. Like after you’ve registered your car. So... I dunno, it seems legit but something is kind of off.

Kinja'd!!!

Yeah.

Kinja'd!!!

What’s this? The blue Mercedes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before.

No placard or anything. The lady just parked right between two handicap spots and walked on into the store. It should be legal for me to let the air out of her tires to effectively boot her here until the police can come and fine her.

It’s electric, which is the only way you can get it in the States.

And you can get it with AWD here, I believe. Still waiting on an AMG version.

The Landie is confusing, ‘AU’ is the prefix for Norwich registration office and ‘64’ means it was registered on or after September 2014 but the DVLA has no data on it.

Very confusing.

It may be an ex-pat who’s bought it in the U.K. For overseas use and would be a tax exempt purchase.

I have a similar story referring to the plates on the Land Rover.

I was taking out the trash at work one day (yay homophobic chicken restaurant), when I see a fairly new Volvo XC70 roll into the parking lot, sporting a British front license plate. I didn’t think anything of it, loads of people have Euro plates on their cars here in NC. I see them drive up to the drive thru line, and notice that the back also has a British plate too.

This struck me as odd, because I had seen NOTHING like it before. Anyway, they go thru the line, and when they drive past me to exit the parking lot, I hear the diesel engine under the hood. So we know it’s not a US market car.

Much like the Land Rover, it was LHD.

I’m just confused on how they got there.

His name is Begbie, named after the guy in Trainspotting. I only got him because he’s blue and matches my interior.

Downtown Lawrenceville, Georgia. Some restaurant has rooftop seating.
